Get Premium Complete Home Water Treatment with a Water Softener and Reverse Osmosis without the

Big-Box Sales-Rep Hassle

Find out the truth about the "Free In-Home Water Test"

Your Image

Nearly every water treatment company offers the "Free In-Home Water Test "

Have you heard of the “Free” water test? If you are looking at water treatment solutions, you’ve probably heard at least one company advertise “The Free Water Test.”

But what does this really entail?!

For most traditional companies, this is their “in” to get a sales representative in your house to try and “wow” you with their product.

What will you really see?...

...a dog-and-pony show to get you to make a snap decision to buy their water treatment system while they’re in your house.

We know water treatment works and is worth it - that’s why we believe in it and sell it.

But.. we take a modernized business model and ditch the “traditional model” that creates high markup. Our approach uses innovation and technology to deliver quality equipment at a lower price.

Would you rather buy from Amazon or Sears???

Will we do a free water test? - Yes. If you really want it we are happy to test the water before an installation. The thing is - we’ve been all over Tucson and Southern Arizona and we know what to expect - There’s no real secret to what’s in the water!

What is the difference?

Is there a quality difference in water treatment systems? Absolutely!

Lower priced or budget systems trade off a lot for price. Parts don’t last as long, softeners use more salt than necessary, they may not remove all of the pollutants that should be removed in the softening process, and they can restrict flow rate.

With a quality system from Tucson Water Treatment you avoid the typical softener setbacks. With our systems you get:

Long lasting parts with a warranty to match

Low salt usage (only used in the clean-out process)

Removes hard water minerals Calcium and Magnesium, AND Iron and Chlorine / Chloramine

No water pressure issues

We provide quality efficient systems without a premium markup!

Our Guarantee

We promise to deliver clean water to your house with long lasting equipment without the big-box markup!

We’re experts in installing water treatment systems. We promise we can install the system in your house. There are no extra or hidden charges for standard installations. If we can’t - you get your money back with no hassle!

What Do Our Systems Do?

We’ve been all over Tucson and Southern Arizona and realized you don’t need 20 different system options to treat the water coming into your home. We’ve simplified our systems because we know they will work for the water coming into your home no matter where you are!

Water Softener

Our system treats the water as it comes into your home to provide clean soft water in every faucet and fixture in your home. We remove the hard minerals (primarily calcium and magnesium carbonates), and iron and chlorine.

Reverse Osmosis

Also called an “RO” for short, the Reverse Osmosis removes the rest of the contaminants that we don’t want to consume. We install an extra dedicated faucet at your kitchen sink that provides you with clean water for drinking, ice, and cooking. Additionally, it can optionally be connected to your refrigerator to provide cold water and clean ice from the dispenser. This system specifically removes contaminants that are found in municipal and well water such as viruses, bacteria, metals, arsenic, pesticides / herbicides, and volatile organic chemicals (VOCs).

What's In The Water?

Water treatment isn't that complicated. Unfortunately the industry can portray it as such to market their products. Here we cover the basics regarding what is IN the water and how we TREAT it. By the time you treat the water - what matters is having clean water and a reliable system that lasts for years!

Hard Water

Hard water refers to the amount of dissolved calcium and magnesium in the water (primarily calcium). The more calcium and magnesium is in the water, the harder it is! Hardness is measured in Grains per Gallon (gpg), where 1 grain is 64.8 milligrams of calcium carbonate dissolved in 1 US gallon of water.

Drinking and utility water can come from a variety of sources, with ground water being a prolific source across the United States. Ground water tends to be high in water hardness as water is a solvent, and absorbs minerals such as calcium and magnesium as it passes through rocks.

In Tucson and the surrounding region - we see an average of about 10 Grains per Gallon... The water here is hard!

Chlorine

When water is drawn from the ground and exposed to municipal delivery systems, it becomes exposed to microbes (viruses & bacteria) which can contaminate the water. Water is especially susceptible to microbe contamination during the time it is pumped from the ground and delivered to the user's tap. Nearly all municipal water treatment systems in the United States add chlorine (Cl) into the water supply to kill and prevent microbe growth.

Contaminants

Unless completely purified, all water (including bottled water), will contain various levels of contaminants. Within municipal systems, trace contaminates are maintained at safe levels as defined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); while bottled water contaminant levels are regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). These contaminants occur naturally such as minerals in the ground water, and from human causes such as industrial, agricultural, or domestic activities.

Water utilities must monitor for approximately 121 contaminants in total. Per the EPA, contaminants that may be present in source water can include:

Microbial contaminants, such as viruses and bacteria, which may come from sewage, septic systems, agricultural livestock, and wildlife.

Inorganic contaminants, such as salts and metals, which can be naturally occurring or result from urban storm water runoff, industrial or domestic wastewater discharges, oil and gas production, mining, or farming.

Pesticides and herbicides, which may come from a variety of sources such as agriculture, urban storm water runoff, and residential uses.

Organic chemical contaminants, including synthetic and volatile organic chemicals, which are byproducts of industrial processes and petroleum production, and can also come from gas stations, urban storm water runoff, and septic systems.

Radioactive contaminants, which can be naturally occurring or be the result of oil and gas production and mining activities.

F.A.Q.

Do your systems use salt?

Yes - All true water softeners require salt

Do your systems remove chlorine?

Yes

Will I lose pressure / is there a flow rate restriction?

No - We use properly sized valves and efficient media to avoid this problem

What does reverse osmosis do?

Also called “RO” for short, it removes the contaminants that we do not want to ingest - mainly used for drinking and cooking water. These contaminants may include viruses, bacteria, metals, arsenic, pesticides / herbicides, and VOCs.

Do reverse osmosis systems waste water?

No - Our Reverse Osmosis systems (as all do) produce a small amount of waste water in the process. You will not see a noticeable impact on water consumption or your water bill.

What about salt-less systems?

We don’t sell or recommend them, because in our opinion they don’t work! See section above on “saltless” systems.

Can I use potassium?

Yes! Our systems use either Sodium Chloride (NaCl) or Potassium Chloride (KCI).

What does a year of salt include?

Average households typically use 8 bags of salt or less per year (usually much less) - We provide you with 8 bags as a “year supply.”

What are the warranties?

We offer some of the best warranties in the industry - including lifetime on the salt storage tanks, media tank, media bed, and a 2-year warranty on installation. Please see the Warranty section for details.

What does a free standard installation include?

It’s rare a house doesn’t fall under our Standard Installation - see our section below for what it includes.

Does your system make the water feel slimy?

Nope! The water does feel different, but not slimy. Removing hard minerals from the water will eliminate the dry feeling you get when getting out of the shower. That “slimy” feeling comes from excess salt in the water, and since our systems are efficient you won’t get that feeling!

Do your systems use a bunch of salt and make my water taste salty?

Nope! Older and lower-quality systems can use a lot of salt, but quality modern systems do not! Our systems are salt-efficient and use a very small amount of salt in the regeneration process.

What is the difference between our water softening systems and a “water refiner”?

Nothing - A “water refiner” is just marketing-talk for a quality softener that also removes iron and chlorine.

What is your service area?

We are located in Tucson, Arizona and will typically travel a 2 hour radius from town for installations.

This includes Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana, Catalina, Oracle, Vail, Green Valley, Sahuarita, Picture Rocks, Tubac, Rio Rico, Nogales, Benson, Sierra Vista, and Bisbee.

What About Saltless Systems?

Want the short answer?

We don’t sell or recommend saltless water treatment systems.

The only way to efficiently remove hardness from water to treat your entire home is with a water softener. “Saltless water softeners” are not really water softeners. These systems use different methods to affect the minerals in the water, but they do not actually remove them!

As a result? “Saltless” systems don’t actually remove hard minerals, and if you don’t remove these minerals you still have the same problem...

We can’t tell you how many times over the years we’ve removed “saltless water softeners” and it looks like the house had no water treatment system at all!

We’ve removed too many of these systems that in our opinion did nothing to prevent wear-and-tear from hard water on the home - which is why we don’t sell or recommend these systems!

Standard Installation

Includes:

Installation within twenty feet of the water main supply into the house

Includes all pipe, drainline, trenching, and electrical wiring needed

Reverse osmosis installed at the kitchen sink

(Optional) Reverse osmosis line ran to refrigerator supply line (low pressure and distances may limit this ability)

Typical installations are done inside the garage (at a loop or inside near where the water main is located), or near the water main

*Average households typically use 8 bags of salt or less per year (usually much less) - We provide you with 8 bags as a “year supply.”

**Pre-existing plumbing issues on the house that require additional repair are not included in the scope of the Standard Installation. We will always notify you of any issues as soon as they are discovered before proceeding.

***For outside installations an enclosure or cover is recommended to protect the system. We will advise you on the best options available if you choose to install one.
